Hi, I’m Tom. Originally from Yorkshire, I now live on the Kent coast in the South East of England, and I’ve been working as a live event artist for over six years.
During that time, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide variety of clients across the world. From well-known names like the BBC, NHS, Unilever, TED, and The Royal Society, to many others who have invited me to bring my scribing and illustration skills into their events and projects.
Scribe artist, live event capture, live illustration, sketch-noting, doodle artist — I’ve been called many things on the job. While the exact term varies from project to project, I prefer to go with scribing.
What Is Scribing?
Scribing is the art of transforming spoken ideas into illustrated summaries in real time. It’s a creative and engaging way to filter information and present it visually, like a living mind map, helping audiences connect with the content more deeply. With around 66 percent of people finding visuals more engaging than words, this approach taps into how we naturally learn, remember, and stay focused.
Whether working on site with pen and paper, digitally via iPad, or remotely from my studio, I offer flexible ways to capture your event as it unfolds, live and visually. Each collaboration is guided by the same goal: turning complexity into clarity through visual storytelling.

Large-scale illustrations created live on paper or card, or foam boards at your venue.
